Aloe Jovenna

Categories ,

Aloe Jovenna, commonly known as Tiger Tooth Aloe, is a compact, fast-growing succulent known for its bright green leaves tinged with red or orange when exposed to full sun. The edges of its leaves are adorned with small, soft, tooth-like serrations, giving the plant its “tiger tooth” appearance. This low-maintenance aloe grows in dense rosettes and is perfect for rock gardens, containers, or as a ground cover in desert landscapes. During the cooler months, Aloe Jovenna produces vibrant orange-red flowers that attract pollinators such as hummingbirds and bees, adding seasonal color and vibrancy to your Arizona garden.

Type of Light: Full Sun to Partial Shade
Aloe Jovenna thrives in full sun but can tolerate partial shade, especially during Arizona’s intense summer heat. A little shade during the hottest part of the day will prevent the leaves from scorching while still allowing the plant to show off its colorful tones.

Watering: Low Water Requirement
Aloe Jovenna is drought-tolerant and requires minimal water once established. In Arizona’s hot summers, water every 2-3 weeks, allowing the soil to dry completely between waterings. In cooler months, reduce watering to once every 4-6 weeks.

Companion Planting:
Pair Aloe Jovenna with Golden Barrel Cactus, Red Yucca, or Sedum for a striking, low-water landscape. You can also combine it with Lavender or Lantana to attract pollinators and add pops of color to the garden. These drought-tolerant companions will create a well-balanced, low-maintenance garden perfect for Arizona’s climate.
