Agave Weberi

Categories ,

Agave Weberi, or Weber’s Agave, is a large and graceful succulent that is known for its broad, pale green leaves with soft edges and a smooth, rounded form. Unlike many agaves, Agave Weberi is spineless, making it a great choice for homeowners looking for a striking, low-maintenance plant without the sharp spines typically associated with agaves. Its wide, open rosette can reach up to 4-5 feet in height and width, making it an impressive focal point in any Arizona landscape. This agave is perfect for xeriscaping, thriving in hot, dry climates with minimal care.

Type of Light: Full Sun to Partial Shade
Agave Weberi thrives in full sun but can tolerate partial shade, particularly in Arizona’s extreme summer heat. For best results, plant it where it can receive plenty of morning sunlight and some afternoon shade.

Watering: Low Water Requirement
Agave Weberi is highly drought-tolerant once established. In Arizona, water once every 2-3 weeks during the hot summer months. In cooler seasons, reduce watering to once every 4-6 weeks. Ensure the soil drains well, as Agave Weberi is susceptible to root rot if left in overly moist conditions.

Companion Planting:
For a balanced and vibrant landscape, pair Agave Weberi with Ocotillo, Desert Spoon, or Yucca Rostrata to add vertical interest and texture. Lantana and Salvia are also excellent companions, as they attract pollinators and add bright pops of color while keeping pests at bay. These combinations will enhance the beauty of Agave Weberi while creating a harmonious desert garden.
